The Mission Team Needs Your Help
Have you heard the buzz about the block party that we are having? It is going to be held on August 28, 2010, 1-4 PM and everyone in the congregation and the community is invited to come to join in the fun.
Various teams and groups within the church are busy making preparations for the wonderful celebration of God’s work through us in our community. The Mission Team will be highlighting four of the many mission opportunities in which we participate. They are: The Camphor Mission work in Liberia, The WUMC Youth Mission work, The Russia Initiatives and the Equal Exchange Mission. Our goal is to increase awareness and support of these missions in our community. As the many Block Party attendees join in the fun, they will also be offering support for others at the same time. We need your help to pass on the message of God’s love and support through community fellowship. We are in need of the following items for these missions:
Coloring books
Crayons (small boxes)
Children’s books
Small stuffed animals
Soccer balls
A case of water in small plastic bottles (used to highlight clean drinking water issues)
Donations to purchase nets for Nothing But Nets ($10 each)
While having fun and playing games, the prizes won will be placed in a container to be sent to the various missions. By doing so, we teach the warmth of the heart that sharing with another person can give.
Please place your “mission sharing items” in the container in Fellowship Hall. Feel the warmth for yourself.
