Learn more about Life Groups at Westlake UMC!
Life Groups are a small group of people, 12 or less, that meet consistently for friendship, study, prayer, and service. Westlake UMC has groups that meet at the church, people’s homes or online. Groups are welcoming members every 6 weeks as well as new groups are forming.
Please contact Ellie Peiffer or the church office for more information on which Life Group would be a good fit for you!

Thursdays at 9am begins Sept. 8 – Pastor’s Bible Study “The Difficult Words of Jesus” by Any-Jill Levine
In this 6 week study, Amy-Jill Levine shows how these difficult teachings would have sounded to the people who first heard them, how have they been understood over time, and how we might interpret them in the context of the gospel of love and reconciliation.
Facilitated by Rev. Mollie Brown via Zoom. To join, contact the office at email@example.com
The Bible Year – The Bible. 365 days. You? Yes, You!!
Rev. Magrey deVega has developed a wonderful new resource for people to read the Bible together. We are excited to begin The Bible Year which features a video about the week’s reading, a concise devotional and short selections to read from the Bible daily. Broken into chunks that will be scheduled in blocks throughout the year, this is a very doable way to read the Bible.

Faith Matters examines contemporary issues from a spiritual perspective. The discussion material is right out of today’s news engaging us with the world and challenging us with how to live by faith. Praying together is a powerful way to feel the connection we have through following Jesus together. Set your alarm for 6:10am or 6:10pm and know that others from the community of Westlake UMC are praying with you.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness doesn’t extinguish the light” – John 1:5 (CEB)
